Local Governance

We believe that effective governance and accountable institutions are important in achieving sustainable development goals. Good local governance is not just about providing a range of local services but also about preserving the life of residents, creating space for greater participation and civic dialogue, supporting market-led and environmentally sustainable local development, and facilitating outcomes that enrich the quality of life of residents

We work with governments to promote improved public administration and to advance public sector reform using human and institutional capacity development approaches. This includes also working with municipalities to promote more responsive, professional and engaged local governance.
